The ultimate of happy hours in town can be found here at Sam's: Monday through Friday, stop in between 10 to 11 a.m. or 3 to 6 p.m. Upbeat and friendly, Sam's is often the scene for welcoming and farewell parties for the U.S. Army's Fort Huachuca, which makes its home in Sierra Vista. Plan ahead, because we accept reservations for large parties!
Sierra Vista's history dates back to the establishment of Fort Huachuca in 1877 as a post to protect our country's southern border and the area's settlers. Fort Huachuca was annexed by the city of Sierra Vista in 1971, and today is the headquarters for the U.S. Army Information Systems Command, Army intelligence Center and School and Electronic Proving Grounds.
The city is also renowned as the hummingbird capital of the west. Folks flock to the nearby canyons to observe and photograph the many species of hummingbirds. Area recreational activities include golf, tennis and hiking. One place not to miss is the spectacular Kartchner Caverns State Park.
